New Animations + Art!

Hey everyone it’s been a while! Got some big updates to go through this time!

Please excuse the auto-playing videos, I’m stealing them off of Twitter’s servers and Twitter does that

General Eric’s Skill Animations (Twitter Link)

General Eric had the feel of a classic Western Tabletop RPG Cleric character, so we wanted to give him an animation that invoked that feeling. Unfortunately, I had too many ideas regarding that, and after some iteration, I accidentally came out with an animation sequence that was way too long to use in-game. Even after cutting it down, it was still too long! So the solution then was to split the animation in two. Please don’t construe this as favouritism, I would’ve avoided this had I foresaw this happening!

Work is currently being done on his special attack and Super Critical animations, so look forward to that!

New Skill Animation for First Boss (Twitter Link)

More work is being done on the first boss enemy in RED: Shadow Maggots! He’ll probably get one more attack animation to flesh out his kit down the line, but when he’s all done, we’ll have just about the full enemy roster for the demo!

New Maggot Showcase Deadeye Dutch (Twitter Link)

It’s been a long time coming, but the gun-slinging Pyro Deadeye Dutch finally has a maggot showcase video! Dutch was a legendary gunslinger roused from beyond the grave by a mysterious necromancer. The townspeople fear them for their muffled murmurings and strange manner of walking.

Deadeye Dutch is an Offense character specialized in dealing consistent critical damage! Use their Super Critical Open Casket Funeral for 3 turns of big critical hits!

General Eric’s Character Art Sample

A new artist just joined our team and wow they’re already doing some good stuff! All I did was pass them a paragraph blurb of who General Eric is and they banged it out first try! We’ll let you know where you can find more of their work after Eric’s character art is finalized but we hope you enjoyed this early progress preview!

That’s all for now, remember to follow me on Youtube, Itch, and Twitter to be notified of future development updates. We’ve got exciting things planned down the road!
